Josef Hölzl - Founder
I am 58 years young, have a unique wife and 2 wonderful teenage daughters. Our current residence is the Dominican Republic, the homeland of my wife, since 2020.
In the age of the internet, I have the advantage of being able to run my business with my employees all over the world.
I was born in Lower Bavaria in a family of entrepreneurs. Although I was supposed to join the construction company of my family, I chose a different path. For many years (1985-2012), I ran several fitness studios and dedicated myself to fitness and health and was very successful.
But then came the shock...
But sometimes things don't turn out as expected. So I had to suffer through 10 years of health limitations: severe allergies, asthma, skin rashes, and many other side effects...
And... all of this despite my very healthy lifestyle. This made me question everything.
What's not right? What's happening here? Questions upon questions...
During this time, I learned that "questioning everything" and "perseverance" always lead to solutions.
The one event that changed everything...
After 10 years of suffering, I eventually met my quality of life savers, Dr. Michael Spitzbart and orthomolecular medicine practitioner Udo Smerd, at a seminar.
They opened my eyes to the fact that we humans can only function when we give our body what it needs to heal itself.
At that point, I realized what my purpose and mission in life is.
That's why I get up every morning...
I want to help people alleviate and heal their suffering. I decided to sell my fitness studios and focus on the human body.
Although the traditional medicine had already labeled me a "chronic patient," my mentor Udo Smerd showed me that nothing, absolutely nothing, is impossible.
Now I enjoy the best of health without any limitations. I am now happy that I did not accept the offers of traditional medicine, especially since I saw what happened to many of my fitness studio members.
Today I run an international company and have made it my mission to help people alleviate and heal their suffering in a natural way.
In cooperation with my mentors and reading thousands of – sometimes lost – natural sciences, I develop recipes with my partners that help our body to heal itself...

Udo Smerd - Founder
From an "Ironman" almost to an early retiree...
As a high-performance athlete and triathlete, I was at the end of my energy at 34 years old.
6 months of dizziness, anxiety, numbness in my hands and feet, dramatic lack of energy, heart rhythm disorders, and even heart muscle cramps made an "Ironman" almost into an early retiree.
After some research, I came into contact with orthomolecular medicine, which accurately described what was lacking for me.
My journey to health...
Within a short period of time, my health improved dramatically, which inspired me as a soldier to change my life, to complete a 6-semester study, and other training to work as a nutrition and nutrient specialist, and to bring the teaching of the causes of diseases to the people.
The resulting development of nutrients led, after a few years, to the encounter with Josef Hölzl. He first came to me as a patient and later the founding of HS Activa (Hölzl-Smerd) was decided.
My goal...
Since that time, a wide range of nutrients has developed, which can be applied specifically with hair analysis, appropriate to each indication. I see this as my life's work, and I hope to be able to help many more people positively.
